On April 16th, Legambiente, at the Enaoli headquarters, had the pleasure of hosting the children from the Fonteblanda elementary school for a day filled with educational and nature-based activities. The children had the opportunity to explore nature and develop new skills through practical and engaging activities.
The day featured three main activities that stimulated curiosity, creativity, and motor skills in the children: Nature Treasure Hunt and Clay Manipulation, where the children had the chance to create small works of art from clay, exercising their manual dexterity and creativity; Nature Treasure Hunt and Soap Making, where the children were involved in making handmade soap using natural materials. This activity allowed them to explore sustainability and the use of natural resources in a creative way; and finally, the Nature Walk in Search of Animal Tracks and Traces, during which the children participated in an exploratory walk through the surrounding nature, learning to recognize animal footprints and traces, thus developing greater awareness and knowledge of the natural world and the importance of protecting it.
During the morning, our educators also had the opportunity to raise awareness with the teachers about the PARCCE project, an initiative that goes beyond mere climate change awareness. PARCCE develops innovative educational materials, including tools in Augmented Reality (AR), to actively engage educators and students, improving their awareness and preparedness for climate change.
The teachers were invited to enroll in the free online course offered by PARCCE on parcce.envirolearning.net, where they can learn how to use the educational materials developed in the project.
The day was a real opportunity for raising awareness among the children, who got a taste of the educational journey the PARCCE project is carrying out in France, Italy, Greece, and Cyprus.
We would like to thank all the participants, teachers, and educators for contributing to the success of this day, and we look forward to continuing to work together to build a greener and more sustainable future!
