Enriching lives, opening minds.
The 3 year project adresses Climate Change (CC) through quality education in the Mediterranean region, EU’s Climatic hotspot. The project will develop & test traditional & innovative teaching materials, directly engaging educators & pupils in CC topics, in a setting where key competences, such as critical thinking, collaborative problem solving will be developed, as students get more science, and climate literate towards a climate neutral EU2050.

To meet objectives of PARCCE, five Work Packages (WPs) are foreseen. The first one, management, is horizontal, while the rest of the WPs deal with the mapping, material development and implementation, as well as communication.
An effective management plan throughout the project will help us pursue our aim and objectives and implement the foreseen tasks, while ensuring the quality of the project.
Following a mapping exercise, a comprehensive, learner-friendly, “traditional” educational material (TEM) on Climate Change, adapted for pupils of age 9-13 years, will be developed and translated in all Partners' languages accompanied by a material in which selected activities will be transformed using Augmented Reality (AR).
A series of online and on-site training courses in the partner countries are planned so that the teachers are competent in applying in their contexts Climate Change projects based on Education for Sustainable Development and Whole School principals, but also in applying Augmented Reality applications. In this context a specific Toolkit / Teachers’ guide will be also developed.
The material developed in the other WPs will be implemented in the partner and associate schools, engaging teachers, students and the wider school community. WP4 is structured around the implementation of both traditional and AR version of the material. Appropriate measuring tools will help us evaluate the impact of the project at school but also at the family level
This WP includes activities aimed to increase awareness of the achievements of the project and to create an appreciation of innovative approaches in education, such as AR, which may be useful tools for the teacher, supporting him/her to promote sustainability and address climate change topics in his/her classroom.
Through educational resources, teachers’ trainings and engaging school interventions.
