Animation for Climate Change, Training in Krestena Greece, Nov 2025

Training “Animation as a Tool in Education for Sustainable Development” at the Krestena Centre for EE

The MIO-ECSDE / MEdIES and the Organising Committee of the Training Seminar are pleased to announce the successful completion of the four-day in-person seminar entitled: “Animation as a Tool in Education for Sustainable Development – The Case of Climate Change within the PARCCE Project”

A total of 26 teachers took part at the seminar held at the facilities of the Centre for Environmental Education and Sustainability (KEPEA) of Krestena, over two weekends (7-8 November 2025 & 21 – 22 November 2025)

Results

The participating educators worked in teams and created original stop-motion animation videos, based on the six (6) educational activities of PARCCE, making use of creative techniques and pedagogical tools tailored to Education for Climate Change.

The videos were produced in several languages (Greek, English, French and German), underscoring the multilingual and European dimension of the project.

The seminar was organised by MIO-ECSDE / MEdIES, in collaboration with:

– The KEPEA of Krestena and the KEPEA of Drapetsona
– The UNESCO Chair and the Mediterranean ESD Network (NKUA)
– The School Activities Coordinators of Ilia Prefecture
– With the support of the Municipality of Andritsaina–Krestena

Next Steps

The videos produced as part of this seminar are official outputs of the PARCCE project and will:

– Be available on the official PARCCE project website
– Be integrated into Augmented Reality (AR) applications using BlippAR (blippar.com) and ActionBound (actionbound.com) by participating schools and members of the Greek Schools Network
– Support the implementation of the AR – GAREOE educational activities
– Be accompanied, where necessary, by teacher guidelines for classroom implementation

The remaining videos from the training are expected to be finalised and uploaded soon, in alignment with the dissemination suggestions discussed.
