The PARCCE project – Active Participation and Resilience for the Climate and Educating Communities, promoted by Legambiente, continues with great enthusiasm. The project combines environmental education, teacher training, and innovative teaching technologies to tackle climate change through practical, engaging, and science-based tools.
Below are some of the ways and places where educators and schools can experiment with new activities designed to better understand and address climate change.
Free Online Training for Teachers
A free and self-paced online training course is available on the official website: https://parcce.envirolearning.net
The course is open to teachers and educators of all school levels and offers 25 replicable educational activities covering key topics such as:
- Climate change and sustainability
- Biodiversity and citizen science
- Active citizenship and green schools
- Eco-anxiety and student well-being
A timely, cross-disciplinary, and inclusive training program, designed to help schools become more aware and better equipped to meet today’s and tomorrow’s environmental challenges.

“Clean Up the World”: turning the environment into an open-air classroom
Once again this year, schools involved in the PARCCE Erasmus+ project took part in Clean Up the World, Legambiente’s long-standing campaign.
Clean-up activities were transformed into hands-on educational experiences, enriched by:
- Workshops on human impact and waste
- Environmental data collection
- Reflections on sustainable lifestyles
A concrete way to raise environmental awareness among students.
Tree Festival 2025: November 21–22–23
The annual Tree Festival returns on November 21, 22, and 23, 2025.
Schools, local governments, and citizens will be engaged in tree planting, green care initiatives, and awareness-raising activities aimed at counteracting the effects of climate change, particularly in urban and school areas.
A unique opportunity to strengthen the bond between education and territory, with a focus on local and global sustainability.
On-site Education in Legambiente’s Environmental Education Centers
Take your class to the field!
At Legambiente’s Environmental Education Centers (CEAs), such as “Il Girasole”, located at the gateway to the Maremma Park, schools can take part in immersive educational experiences in nature, including:
- Scientific workshops and climate change education
- Urban heat island analysis
- Invasive species monitoring
- Mediterranean diet and climate impact labs
- …and much more
Students are guided by certified Legambiente educators in experiential learning activities that stimulate emotions, reflection, and environmental awareness in a stimulating natural context.
