As part of the Erasmus Days 2024, an online event dedicated to our ERASMUS+KA2 “PARCCE” was organized on Wednesday 16 October 2024, for Greek Educators.
The 42 online attendants were a mix of teachers, headmasters, ESD Directorates of Primary and Secondary level from all around Greece, staff of Centres of ESD, together with some teachers from Cyprus.
First and foremost, the webinar gave participants the chance to learn more about PARCCE and its planned educational materials (both Traditional and Innovative), network, and get ready for the project’s subsequent phases (after the educational materials are finalised).
First and foremost, the webinar gave participants the chance to learn more about PARCCE and its planned educational materials (both traditional and innovative), network, and get ready for the program’s subsequent phases (after the training materials are finished).
Beyond that, the presentation of recent scientific data on the evolution of climate change in the Mediterranean, gave to the seminar a strong training character. The webinar also brought to light a number of issues that the educational community is concerned about in relation to climate change education: From the identified “climate stress” to the denial and indifference of some; the notion of time in our educational activities (it is unlikely that we will see the effects of today’s climate actions during our lifetimes); the value-based nature of climate change education, and the necessity for everyone to take responsible action despite the dire predictions.
The next milestone of PARCCE is the Traditional Educational Material (TEM), which partners currently co-design and is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2024.
