Exploring the Skies: Weather vs Climate Change

Students delve into the distinctions between weather and climate through direct observations and data collection at our school’s weather station. The program culminates in a two-day expedition with outdoor activities enhancing their understanding through real-world experiences.

The greenhouse effect and its role in climate change

By working on selected visual material e.g. diagrams, charts, videos, the students will increase their understanding and make a clear distinction between the greenhouse natural phenomenon and the climate crisis caused by humans. Download the Activity in English, Italian, Greek, French (PDF files)

The Greenhouse Gas Experiment

This experiment provides a visual and hands-on way for pupils/students to understand the greenhouse effect and its role in climate change, making the concept more tangible and relatable.

Steps to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint in Transport

Students estimate the carbon footprint of their usual means of transport for their journeys between home and school. They evaluate whether it is possible for them to change their habits to reduce their carbon footprint. Download the Activity in English, Italian, Greek, French (PDF files)

My carbon footprint

Students calculate their own footprint (personal & family’s) using an online calculator, discuss inconsistencies in their daily habits and commit on (the most) effective ways to reduce it.

Become a climate researcher

In this math lesson, students will explore how scientists track climate change using data and graphs. They will learn to read and interpret simple climate graphs, identify trends, and discuss how math helps us understand global warming.

WP3 Teachers’ Toolkit & Trainings

Activity 3.1 A Toolkit/ ESD Guide for educators in English. A locally adapted version was made for Greek teachers. | Similarly an ICTs Toolkit for Educators has been compiled in English, Greek.
